Indigo/Crystal Children a hoax

Kids this generation born anywhere from 1980 and now are what they consider "indigo" with special abilities such as telepathy, sense auras, are extra sensitive to surroundings, intelligent, empathetic slightly attune with vibrational energies, have indigo auras etc... they say that these children are born with a developed pineal gland which enables these special abilities and that they are "god's" children.

There may or may not be truth in that but my theory is that these children are born in an era where everything is accessible, most amazing inventions, hollywood box office hits, technology, scientific discoveries, pyschology advancements etc. ever discovered/created during the 80's era and until now... These children are born in an era where everything is unfolding in front of thier eyes where they are eye witnessing events we as older generations have yet to see or experience while growing up and thus, these children are much more evolved mentally and spiritually.

I dont think to coin these children "indigo" would be an accurate description of this generation today. Fact is, kids nowadays are spoiled, having more than they need including knowledge and abilitiy to connect with people globally through the amazing power of the internet, onwing the latest and hottest games, phones, computers etc...This generation of children have much more resources thereby making them much more acute, sensitive, intelligent, evolved, alert, and spiritual (considering the current state of the world today)

Another theory is that Indigo children regardless of age/gender/race have always existed in this world and is now becoming more popularized because people are making them known. People with the astrological signs of Pisces, Scorpio and Cancers all have natural psychic abilities and are extra sensitive, intuitive, compassionate, creative and dream like. I known of many Pisces who have lucid dreams, psychic abilities, telepathy and Scorpios who are dark, mysterious, and see beyond what meets the eye... These 3 signs of the 12 zodiac are considered "Indigo" for they are ruled by water which are of emotional, sensitive, creativity, spiritual characteristics and have more of an intelligent state of consciousness.

I also think it's more of parents wanting a way to make their immature bratty children to have an excuse to feel special, spoiled, and the like. Or people like to refer to others as "indigo" to feel as if they are much more superior and unique when actuality, are just social outcasts.

In my opinion, there are no "indigo children". All children then and now are a manifestation of who we want to be and what we are meant to become.

Yup, indigo/crystal/starseed is only s label or a general term, but we need words to talk about subjects. All words are labels or symbolic. Words are the common filter we agree to use to pass on information. So there is a disconnect between what we feel and what, we think and what we can express. All, I know is that I found out that I fit into one or more of these labels when I was 27. I am 28 now so it wasn't my parents or the indigo revolution or whatever that led me to know what I know and do what I do it has just given me access to talk about things with others who think a similar way about subjects I have always kept to myself and studied alone. I have to admit that, although I haven't gained any skills since I found out about these ideas but I have sharpened my gifts very rapidly just because of the exposure. You can call me whatever you want. I am human. I am me. Iam not special. Plus I have only one parent who knows Iam indigo because I told her, but, you know, she already thought I was special anyway....she's my mom, after all.

Also more often than not it is the children who tell the parents what's up. I mean imagine your child was like "I was _____ in my past life"....."it was like this"......"I remember my life before birth"......"I feel like I am not frm here"...."I feel your pain mommy/daddy"......"I can visit great gandpa in my dreams"....."I AM A CRYSTAL SOUL" and you have no idea where they got this from. What would you do? Give them drugs? Ground them? Hire a therepist? Tell them their wrong? I wouldn't. I would have to support them and make sure that they are o.k. You are responsible for their life at that point and confidence is key.

I was not spoiled as a child I experienced wealth and lack of. I slept on a slab of foam in the livingroom in a one bedroom apartment. My mothers generation comes from a third world country and my family is one of the first Save the Children Fund families both my mother and grandmother have spoken at their benefits. I have held the hand of dying family members. I have seen poverty and war up close and personal.

But my mother and father are smart they held eduction very high and made sure I never slipped through the cracks because I am different believe me they searched and searched for the best schools for my personality. The catch was I always had to get in on scholarship so I constantly had to prove my inteligence.They introduced me to natural foods, meditation, music and art. Ther supported my deccisions and let me make my mistakes, but yet they knew nothing about being indigo but I knew who and they knew who I was because I was very expressive and thus they knew what I needed. I didn't have cable or the newest toys but I had a near by wooded area and a bike or a skateboard.

You know it is a misconception that all indigos or whatever are spoiled. Some are some aren't just like any other group of people and we're not all bratty. In fact, it's kinda bratty to generalize, but I forgive you. anyway PEACE

Butterballs...i myself aren't in on all these labels....but i am sensitive....in more ways than i will go into here...i mean you no disrespect...but i will say this......when you have walked in my shoes...or spent time close to these people you speak so lowly about...when you understand a little more about what it is like to be sensitive....when you have the context or know the back ground of individual people...then speak about it more.....but please dont generalise people you dont know....
Me...in this life...i have spent 29 year being poor....i was spoiled...yeah.."with love"..and that is about it...and that was only until i was 13 years old....at which point my Mum died...after that i sort of had to fend for myself...as did my little sis....my oppitunities were always limited.....but hell i got by...and i am here now...indigo or not...and far from spoiled......my point being dont generalise...

As you mentioned some people have always been sensitive....throughout every age....indigo or not....right now it is more polorised i agree.......and perhaps there are more sensitive people now too....either way...labels or no labels...the sensitive people remain...just that

I think that most people that this term might represent realize that there is no one theory or description that can be everyone's umbrella. There are multiple accounts, versions, history, theories, religious connections for as many people there are that feel indigo represents them. Nobody knows what it is, the more specific someone is about it, the more dectractors from the idea. It could be a ridiculously subtle attitude change shared by millions of people. The idea is that no one can tell you what it is, no one can tell you why you feel a certain way.

Stories on the internet are what they are, theories, there is no leader of this movement. There is no one person or even specific group of people that define what indigo means. Some people try to write books about it, ultimately they rely on individual perspectives and preconceptions. The more detailed and authoritative you try to be about what the term indigo describes the further away from it you become. It literally defies definition. You must find it and experience it for yourself to know what it is. Indigo encourages extreme open mindedness, self-discovery, finding one's own means of spiritual enrichment and direction.

Indigos most likely have been always present among human populations. Their occurance and encouragement has become vastly more common. Crystals in cocoa butter, sugar, minerals etc. influence their neighbors by forming in a specific pattern resonating in a specific way. Based on current environmental and frequency factors the crystal structure spreads as, by virtue not effort, the surrounding crystals align into the matrix. The vibration that produces indigo-type humans is spreading rapidly amongst youth around the World. This is probably the most discussed change in human attitude that may have been brought about by and certainly is fueled by unprecedented levels of communication.

Parenting 101: When you have a child with exceptional abilities you need to understand them and understand how to help your child adapt socially and develop even with that difference. If you read any book on raising gifted kids that's the main idea. Even with something that's a gift or extra ability - it sometimes takes the same kind of extra work as a parent of a child with a disability.
