dude, right on.
i see it tooooooooo.
I just started reading a thread that had gotten shut down for inviting people to another site. Apparently, that's against the rules and regulations of this particular website. I smell hypocrisy. This is a website for open-minded, spiritually awakened people to share themselves without the judgement of others, and there are now rules to follow? If you can't see the contradiction in that, you're not looking hard enough. I came back to this site because I thought I had come to terms with my anger enough to enjoy my interaction here. But, how am I supposed to keep my cool when I see things like this? This is a site for indigos. Indigos are by nature unconsenting to authority. There are certain things we are not allowed to do here. Do you see where I'm going with this? HEY, TEACHER, LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE.
So, I decided to take this time to express how I really felt. Invite whoever you want to wherever you want. If this site won't allow you to do what you wish to do, quit coming here. I'm inviting all of you to come join me on myspace. My screename is Rumpel Foreskin. It should be easy to find.

The number one destructive thing on any public board
is people creating accounts for the specific purpose of
advertising another site.
I have seen many boards die under the weight of this.
Where finding a real post is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
Therefore, the administrators of this board must ban people
and close threads. The price for not doing so is this wonderful board goes away.

Discerning vs Judging. You say that any judging is bad.
And you have lumped any discernment in with that.
This is very bad. This leads to self destruction and annihilation.
Here is an example. There is this person in your life and they are energetically sucking you dry. If you go the route in your statement, to not judge anyone, then by the flipside you should accept anyone. So, by your words, you should accept this person that is sucking you dry.
My view is that you should be discerning. I can see that this person is sucking me dry, and so I will shield myself from that person and maybe distance myself too.
The difference is, you are not judging the person. Judging is saying that the sucking person is evil, or a bad guy or psychic vampire (which is bad). These kinds of judgment can lead to alienating of people and division. But being discerning is extremely important. The person sucking you may be doing so because they had a really bad childhood, and this is the way they survived, or they could be in denial of themselves, or the could be changing to a new form, or... These are the things you would miss if you just Judged them as bad. But you must discern that they are sucking you dry and must do something about it.

PS if this was a tighter site, I would ban you just for your names
and what you are trying to promote by them.
The moderators on this board are required to adhere to the site Guidelines (guidelines that everyone is "supposed" to have agreed to abide by when they sign up to become members of IS) in order to keep the site running smoothly.
I suggest that if you have a concern with the Guidelines themselves (posted below) you send a message to DFischer stating your concerns.

Thank you for your understanding.
"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" — and find that there is no death."
builderofcastles, I might suggest lightening up a bit. Your reply was way too serious for the subject matter. You are kinda turning it into something it isn't and putting words in my mouth. Humor is the only thing I'm trying to promote with the names I come up with. You would ban me for that? Forgive me for saying, but that's ridiculous. I like to laugh, and I like to make other people laugh. I understand your reply, but it was unnecessary. You are putting it on a personal level, and this does not adress that. This is about threads getting closed for promoting a website. I understand if it's someone who comes here everyday and does nothing but advertise other sites. Yeah, that's pretty annoying. But, otherwise, let them promote what they want to promote. Who knows? It might be a cool website. As far as a personal level is concerned, I don't believe in judgement, therefore there is no need for discernment. If someone is sucking you dry, then you have no choice but to accept it, because it's happening. If they are creating a negative energy for you and you leave or make them stop, it doesn't mean you're judging them. It simply means you want no part of their negativity. The thread I was referring to was not negative in any way. Closing it was uncalled for in my opinion. I guess it's a good thing this is not you website, so I don't get banned.
I haven't read the guidelines, and to be honest with you, I'm probably not going to. But, if I cross them in any way, you are more than welcome to close my thread.

Justin, I understand your wanting to keep things light - and I also understand your dislike for authority - and anything that comes close to authority (including the monitoring of the thread and things like "rules" or "guidelines"). The internet itself works like that - anything goes. Unfortunatley, if we let "anything go" on IS, the forum would turn into a giant billboard for anyone with a site to promote or a product to sell and the issues that matter would be burried.
"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" — and find that there is no death."
You see, this is serious. This is the beginning of the end of IS.
This is the first stone in what becomes a stoning.
I have watched this too many times to take a back seat this time.
I was trying to point out that IS is very open. That you keep such names is a testament to that.
Since I do not know you, your names come across like a bad pick up line.
They are only humorous from one viewpoint. Or they may be humorous on many more levels, but I would have to know you to understand those.
A bad pick-up line? Really? Who uses Professor Dickweed or Rumpel Foreskin as a pick-up line? I don't think they even work as pick-up lines. They're just stupid names. You don't really have to know me to see the humor in them. You either see it or you don't. Knowing me wouldn't change that. I don't have to know a comedian to laugh at his jokes. If I think it's funny I laugh. From what you said in your first post on this thread, I kinda got the vibe that I offended you a little bit, like maybe you felt obligated in some way to defend IS. And, that's cool. But, you really oughta lighten up. There are a lot of things in this world I would consider serious, but a website falling victim to a little spam is not one of them. That is not a serious problem to me. There is no need to try and prove your point to me, because I wasn't really that serious when I wrote this thread. Actually, I tend to be a bit of an instigator anyway. I do like me a good argument every once in a while. But, not this time. I shouldn't have even written this thread. It's stupid. How do I erase it? Eh?

What are you ppl talking about I've seen real names like that. And what about that movie meet the Fockers? How many real weird names r there in the world,...as many ppl tht exits. You know I don't see the problem with telling someone to go to a certain site but if that's the case why not pm them?
Ok Justin, I hope this served as a valuable lesson.
“The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."
No, this served as no lesson whatsoever. This was a pointless thread when I wrote it, and it still is.

lol - yeah, it's pretty much nothing but a giant vacuum. It has created a sucking sensation since the moment I started it. I don't consider it hijacking the thread. As a matter of fact, I would rather the point of this thread change, anyway. Feel free to fill the void however you wish.

You should've done both. Ask the question and then throw cupcakes and start a food fight. I'm multi-talented. I can answer questions and throw food at the same time. I think I can, anyway.

If anyone throws a cupcake at me I'll just try to catch it in my mouth and eat it. All day long.

The cost of having a calm well ajusted society (online or wherever) is rules. Rules are often necessary. If you feel like the rules are unjust then break them, but not unless you are willing to face the consequences. That is civil disobedience. That is how I live my life. I don't hate rules just to hate rules. I only hate those rules that are unjust. I will break those rules when I see them, but I know that wherever I go... be it in the world, or online... there are going to be rules. That's just how the world works. And if I don't accept that I will eventually end up alone in my own private world where there are no rules... and I don't want to live that way.
Peace and Love,
Deni
I didn't realize this thread was sort of tongue and cheek. Sorry!
