Ok, maybe this is a good time to discuss the mayan calendar. The one used in this decoder is from an interpretation from José Argüelles, the Dreamspell. Try to compare the kins from Feb 29 and Mar 1 in a 366 year, like 2006.

i got white resonant mirror.. march 2nd '89. clan sky, tone 7. each "name" comes from the icon which is in the center, the "seal of the day" and the tone from lines and dots on top. one line=5, one dot=1. but many lines (i don't know how many) can be one concrete number and not the summary of them.

You see, the Tzolkin (Mayan) has to be synchronized with the gregorian (our) calendar for us to decode a date. This is where all the different calendars come into place. You'll see that there's more than one decoder, based on it's creator.
I started to use Argüelles last Jully, but found something I couldn't accept. He uses his calendar of the 13 Moons to decode the Tzolkin. Let me give a brief description of this calendar.
The notion is that the gregorian calendar is full of irregularities and it's like measuring something with one inch different then the next inch. It makes no sense. So instead of having 12 months ending on different days, the 13 Moon calendar has 13 months, with exactly 28 days. 13 months x 28 days = 364 days in a year. That is great, it only misses one day! So he created a day out of time, which is celebrated between years. So 13 x 28 + 1 = 365. Perfect!
The calendar is great because it's very harmonic. The moon has 13 cycles over a year and this calendar is more readily aligned with it. Each month has exactly 4 weeks of 7 days each, no more no less. So your birthday is always on the same day, you don't need to check the calendar for this one to see in what day of the week you have your birthday. It's always the same.
It's all great until this point, but then I saw something that made me doubt it all. When I tried to find the day 29 of February, there was a 28/29, on the same day. Do you grasp the implication of this? Imagine in the gregorian that the 28th is on a Tuesday. Then the 29th, which is next day, would also be Tuesday. Do you grasp the implication of this?
The beginning of this calendar is started on the 26th of July, marked by the rising of Sirius, in the great galactic cycle. The day out of time is the 25th of July, just between years. So the calendar is supposed to be a lunar-solar-galactic calendar, instead of measuring only the days around our sun. But, the journey around our Sun is not harmonic. I believe it was once a perfect 360 days, but after the destruction of Maldek, the Earth's orbit was pushed a little further and is now 365,25. This means 365 and a quarter. We need 4 years to fill this quarter into a full day, that's why we compensate every 4th year with another day (Feb 29).
So what do you do with such a freak in the most wonderfully harmonic and regular calendar? Well, you can just ignore it, and every 4 years celebrate 2 days in the same day. Is that confusing? But the worst is not this. The worst is when you use such a calendar to synchronize the Tzolkin.
The Tzolkin attributes a specific energy to each day. Perhaps not our midnight measure of the beginning of a day, but each time the sun goes up in the morning. Each day the sun goes up, there is a different energy to manifest. This is a sacred and very personal calendar. It has nothing to do with measuring the cycles of planets. It measures the energies of creation.
Each person is attributed a kin (day), which has a specific meaning. The Mayans used the name of the kin to name the child that was born on that day. So just by knowing the name of a person, you could understand what that person came to the planet to do. What was this soul's intention and creative potential to be manifested in that particular lifetime.
What is the problem then? Well what if you have two persons born in two different sun rises. One in a 29th of February and the other on a 1st of March. They would have the same kin! Because for the 13 Moon calendar, that day is just ignored. How can a full day have no energy? This can't happen. And it's all for the sake of the harmony of the calendar. It would be so perfect to have a solar year made of a regular number of days. But it isn't like that.
So this is my problem. It must be very clear that this calendar and even this Tzolkin are not truly Mayan. They are José Argüelles interpretation of the Mayan calendar. The meditations that you read for each day are not Mayan. They are a combination of I-Ching, Runes and other devinatory arts, that he synchronized with the Mayan and built those meditations himself.
So you need to be very careful claiming this as Mayan. It is only based on the Mayan. The Mayan Elders were not happy with this misconception, since Argüelles spread the calendar to the entire world, claiming it as the Mayan calendar.
This is where people like Ian Xel Lungold came in place to correct this. Ian got in love with the calendar and tried to spread the word. When he found real Mayans they told him that that calendar wasn't correct. Argüelles didn't even speak with the Elders to get it right. He just said his was better, and served humanity well. So Ian spent some time with the Elders, learning and made a promise to them to correct this and spread the word. You can read the story on his website.
He past away fairly young in my opinion, but his work remains. You can check out the website http://www.mayanmajix.com/, especially the learning lab. I found out about him in video google, when search for the mayan calendar. You can do the same and watch some of his presentations, which are very enlightening about the evolution of consciousness, as predicted by the mayan calendar.
Because of this misconception, I coded a decoder myself, to include the 29s every 4 years. I basically include all days from all years. To synchronize both calendars, we only need a day/date that we know is common in both sides. For example, you check the Mayan records for an astronomic event, see the day on the long count calendar, and check our advanced astronomy to find that day in a gregorian date. But, most of the Mayan records were burnt, and so people are not exactly sure.
José Argüelles was the first. He was the pioneer. People had no other choice then listen to him at the time. But then came a load of other scholars and very educated people to study this civilization and try to decode their calendars. So what you have now is different synchronizations. There is not a widely accepted/agreed/consensus on the correct synchronization.
Calleman's work is pretty good, but I also put it to rest, since his calendar ends in October 2011, and that conflicts with my belief of the 2012 date and the alignment with the galactic center.
So you can just choose one, and go with that person's work. Or you can search yourself and study it and make your own opinion. I personally prefer the one by Sheldon Nidle, which is information coming from the Galactic Federation.

So time has changed. We even have less hours to a day now. This galactic calendar (and I prefer this to the old Mayan Calendar, since it barely represents time as we understand it today), is an adjustment made by the pleiadians and arcturians. I must remember you that Maya is one of the stars in the Pleiades. There is Alcyone, Merope, Maya, Electra, Taygeta, Coele, Atlas and our Sun. Our Sun is the 8th star from the Pleiades, as well as a twin star to Sirius A, making Sirius a ternary system.
So instead of giving too much importance to our own uncertain past, I prefer focusing on what our friends from the Pleiades, Sirius and Arcturus have to say today, through the constant communications with our planet these days. The Mayan calendar came from them, so I think they're the most qualified to make the necessary adjustments if they are indeed needed.
Ok, I'll summon it up here. I just want to make something very clear. I am not saying that Argüelles is wrong, because I have not the authority to do so. But since many people are following his word, believing that it is actually Mayan, I think I do good service to them to point the fact that it is not true Mayan. So with this in mind, one can decide better to stay with Argüelles, find it's own path or someone one trusts to follow time until the end of times in 2012. 5 years from now all of this won't matter anyway.
My choice is the Galactic Calendar from the Galactic Federation, as shared by Sheldon Nidle.

very important and right what you say.. i have one video from this ian xel lungold and he talks about 2012, the periods before 3116 bc etc. i also got amazed from the names of the stars in Pleiades(i didn't know all of them) because you just revealed to me a possible truth (which has nothing to do with the calendar)!
