I'm going to say that this is obsolete. There should be no distinction between mod and member. Or maybe we can just have mod in the title. I think this leads to division.

And since reported threads are now public, it should be fairly easy for new members to see who the mods are, should they need something.

Does this mean you want no one to moderate, or that those that do it just shouldn't be referred to as moderators?

Anyways, its more of a responsibility than a title in my opinion.

The title can go to ones head rather quickly, merely removing the blue letters from the title to better blend in will still not remove the ego attatched to the position, like in a field of the serengeti while the antelope play, the common will still be able to distinguish that which is game, it will still smell of meat, the divide still there, you can paint a zebra but he still has his stripes, he will still run like a zebra, smell like a zebra, and show his stripes like a zebra even tho he has been painted to conceal his true nature, the nature of the beast is still within and cannot be changed...His ego will still portray him as a zebra.
