Have patience my friend, their time will come - I know of the atrocities that occur and those that commit them cause great suffering to them self as well - but don't wear karma's boot, for that will only cause you to suffer as well, you will embody the karma that was meant for them.
It is not our place to judge these things, only to be aware of our own thoughts and actions.

I've had it happen to me, when I was a kid - two of my friend beat a living bird to death with sticks. I pleaded with them to stop, they wouldn't - they justified it by saying that the bird's wing was broken and it needed to die so it wouldn't suffer (I don't know if that was true or not, but I believe they believed it). I ran home crying - no lie, I was about 7 at the time.

Guess what, one of them is in jail today and the other one has told me that he thinks his life is worthless and has thoughts of suicide at times (not directly related to that incident, but it's the pattern they have set up in their life) and all I have is compassion for them, they just are unable to see the beauty in life that has been bestowed upon me.

i had a similar situation, when i was around 5 a small bird that was not yet able to fly fell out its nest

i watched for a while as the bigger birds tried whatever they could to help the little one or somehow get it back into the nest

then these 2 teenages(at the time) came and took the little bird

they put a string around its head and they pulled on it till the birds head split from the body

i left before they finished....

That is what playing god does...what judgments and beliefs do - Just live and let things be, who are we to decide what is right and wrong? Maybe these creatures need to suffer, maybe it is part of the experience of life that they needed to or wanted to go through. Who knows why, but it only makes things worse when we decide who gets what in life...

if god would let me play his role,

lol this reminds of some guy that got on the news when he fell asleep and had indigestion and the room was not ventilated at all
