    Near Death Experiences (NDE)

This ad goes away when you register.
I have been thinking about the afterlife and various ideologies throughout the earth...different dogmas and schools of thought. Everyone has a different idea of the afterlife or events occurring after death. I was thinking another good way of analysis for what the afterlife holds is to examine near death experiences. I have not formed any opinions as of yet but am looking into the subject. I know that all data may not be reliable...and how can we prove the experience as "near death" unless they were clinically pronounced dead and came back to life...yeah yeah I know...logic etc. But I still think examining these stories can provide valuable insight. Please feel free to share your own experiences or any valuable links that you may have

here is a site dedicated to NDE:

I found the description relating to May Eulitt rather interesting...do we create our afterlife by our beliefs?

    pretty cool stuff

Here is the one of May Eulitt

    1. May Eulitt

The following is one of those very rare NDEs shared by several people at the same time. An excerpt is described in the words of May Eulitt to Stephen Hoyer, Ph.D. from their book entitled “Fireweaver.” (2) To read the full account, visit this web page.

May Eulitt, along with her cousin James and friend Rashad, were struck by lightning. The three of them find themselves in a large heavenly room where they realize they can communicate with each other telepathically. Then a warm, golden, and embracing light enters the room and the three of them enter into a beautiful valley. They observe a multitude of tiny bubbles drifting in the air which they learn represent souls. Because the three of them are of different religious backgrounds, the beautiful valley has a different interpretation between them. To May Eulitt, the beautiful valley represented heaven. James viewed the beautiful valley as the "Gulf of Souls". As a Buddhist, Rashad saw the beautiful valley as Nirvana. Then an angelic being came from the light whose identity was unique to each of the three. May Eulitt viewed this angelic being as a kind of Viking Valkyrie. To James, the angelic being was his late father. To Rashad, the angelic being was Buddha. Each of the three also received a different message. Ultimately, they were told that they had to return to their bodies which they do. (3)

    It varies.
I won't go into the details of why / how, but my heart stopped and I wasn't breathing for about 40 seconds, or so I was told...followed by 2 days of coma. I don't know if my experience was during the actual death or the coma, but here's what I remember:

There wasn't darkness or light, I wasn't standing, laying, or sitting, I was kind of just suspended in the air. I had no thoughts, no sensations, nothing to see, hear, etc. and I was completely at peace.

The line between internal and external blurrs and fades into nothingness.
