i never clicked the advance.. there are a few commonalities.. ~every forum will turn a colon and a right parentheses into a smile, and a colon + capital D into a grin, a colon and lowercase p into a tongue..
the 'cool' emoticon doesn't seem to work here (a face with sunglasses 8)

thevessel.. if you have photoshop, you can save a multilayered image as animated .gif file..
i beleive there are some freeware proggies around that will do this as well.
