    Smile Childhood Memories

This ad goes away when you register.
Hey guys! I wanna get to know you all a little better, partially because I'm somewhat new here and also because why not? So in this thread, I'm gonna ask you about your childhood. Just tell me some of your favorite memories or some strange/ exciting experiences you had. I think it's just cool to know about people's childhoods.
I also think kids are some of the most fascinating and entertaining people ever
you can learn a lot from them

Ok, I'll start off with my childhood. I think some of my first memories were when was about two. I was at my I guess you could say 'caretaker's' house with my best friend. Most of my first few memories were from there. I don't remember remembering my past life, which kind of makes me sad
My sister [who's three years older than me] could be quite the bully, as many older siblings are/ were. On the rare occasion we got along I remember we always used to put on concerts for my parents on my sister's bed, singing to Britney Spears or Backstreet Boys, those people I had always been quite spiritual. When I was about five years old, I started looking into kinesis abilities and such. I had a huge fascination with that and magic [like a lot of kids]. I remember I always wished for a unicorn on my birthdays . My neighbors, sister and I [we were all about the same age] went through this thing where thought we were witches and wizards. We used our wands and said Harry Potter spells and jumped off the front porch steps on brooms into bags of leaves, swearing that we could fly. Though everyone else seemed to grow out of the magic stage, I never did. And for that, I am quite happy!

I'll try not to write too much more, so I won't bore you

Anyway, I guess I'll tell you about one of my paranormal experiences I remember best.

When I was about six or seven, my cat, Spooky, had died from cancer or blood clots, I believe. I was devistated, as you could probably imagine, especially since I didn't get to say goodbye because her legs got paralyzed at about 5 am, so my dad went to the vet and had her put to sleep :[. I would always wish to see her one more time and ask her to come back. When I had learned about the Day of the Dead, I put stuff out for Spooky to come, but I never saw her.
One night, I was having trouble sleeping in my room, so I went to my parents room to sleep [i slept on the floor]. They were still downstairs, but I figured they wouldn't mind. I was still awake, looking at the walls when I heard someone whisper my name. It was a loud whipser and it seemed to be coming from within me. I thought i was just hearing things so I ignored it. But then the same voice called me again, so I got up on my hands and knees and looked around the corner of my parents' bed. Standing a few feet back, I saw a cat outline in white. All the features like the face weren't visible, but I knew right away it was Spooky. The tail was even moving back and forth! I was very comforted by this.
Just recently, about a few months ago, I went to my tarot card reader, who is great, btw , and she said she could sense a cat's spirit that was by my head. She said it was black with a little white. Spooky was all black except for a little white diamond on her chest. I told her about Spooky and she said it was definately Spooky. I thought it was pretty cool

Also -if you're still reading this- I just wanna say one quick thing about how I could kinda tell I was an Indigo...maybe

When I was younger I always felt that I was supposed to do something. I felt like I was here to help and guide people. For a long time I even considered if I was another Jesus or something. I just found it kinda silly and neat

Anywho, sorry for the longness. Now tell me about your experiences!

Thats kinda funny, I thought that i might have been a Jesus or something too.

    Funny experiences:

Going on a monster hunt to the big trees at the end of the road, because i thought a monster had left a paw print on the outside of my window, (it was my cat )

    Scary experience:

    Shadow people.....

Ha, I played with magic sets too!

Hi! Thanks for sharing! That is really interesting about Spooky.

    OK lets see....
My very earliest memory is when I was two years old. The whole family was at my Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate my birthday. I have an older half sister and she led me into a bedroom and all of a sudden the closet door swung open and there was another little girl hiding in the closet! It turns out that she was another older half sister - that I guess I never met before! Then I remember us all sitting around the table and I got to eat cake.

My very first paranormal experience took place when I was about 5 years old. My grandpa was in his mid 50's at the time, when my mother got word that he had Leukimia. It was so advanced that he passed away within about 2 weeks of being diagnosed. I was really too little to understand what death was, and I wasn't allowed to attend the funeral. Shortly after his passing I began to see Grandpa lingering around the house. He wore a white suit. I remember asking my Aunt what I should do - and she told me I should run up and kick him and tell him to leave us all alone! Apparently she didn't realize that I really was seeing Grandpa -but I did as she recommended. I spent months wandering around the house kicking his ghost (what looked like air to everyone else).

He passed on in 1990 (I think). But I still see he spirit. A few Thanksgivings ago my mother brought out her guitar and sang a song - I think it's called "Danny Boy" - and all of a sudden Grandpa appeared. I was mystified that he randomly appeared after all of these years. My grandmother began to cry and said that was Grandpa's favorite song. I knew he had come back to hear my Mom play it.

Since then I have seen him a couple of times. About a year ago he came to me in a dream and said that he was trying to reach my mother, but she wasn't listening to him. He wanted me to intervene. So I told my Mother about it - and told her to look out for signs or dreams from Grandpa. About a week later she had a dream about him and he said he was sorry for some stuff that had happened a long time ago. Strange huh?

    Well - that's my story!

I have no idea. I wasn't blessed with that gift..
Very cool. I really enjoyed the story about Spooky, reminds me of my cat.

My turn! Okay, my first paranormal experience is not my own memory persay. It's actually a story my mother told me. I was about 3 years old and we were in Puerto Rico to attend my great grandmother's funeral. My mom said I jumped in front of the hearse and started yelling, "Don't take my grandma! I haven't seen her yet!" My mother says ever sense I was always a bit.. odd.

My worst childhood memory was when the girl next door was helping me fix my kite. The string got all tangled and I couldn't get it undone. She fixed it and told me she was going to fly it across the street seeing as the yard was filled with trees. As she was going to cross I told her to look both ways, she didn't. On the way back I yelled again for her to look both ways. As she made it halfway across a car hit her. I was 6 yrs old. (She was fine, but till this day it still bothers me.)

    Okay, who's up next?

    ?
Me I am the youngest of three, all sisters. Of course since I was the youngest I always got picked on. We lived next to our grandma and grandpa. So I alway found peace from them by running up the hill to cook or bake with grandma or play cards with grandpa. They had a barn, I always played in the hay mound with the cats. It was my favorite spot other than out in the woods on the hill. I used to build forts out of old tree limbs, and play there for hours by myself. I was never afraid either. Felt so comfortable there. I would go there whenever I was mad at my parents or my sisters. Funny thing they never came looking for me. I would be out there forever, or so I thought. Time when your a kid seemed like an hour was forever. I don't think I ever had any paranormal experiences until I was an adult. I always had dreams. I always daydreamed. My mother said my oldest sister was very physic when she was a toddler. All my mother would have to do is think about her and she would turn around and there she was. She is the furtherst thing from it now. Thinks it is totally absurd. She has a very good sense of intution. She just thinks she is smart. She won't read the books my mother and I give her about such things. She is in total denial. Sorry got off the subject there. Anyhow I remember alot from when i was little. 2 and 3. My mother doesnt' believe that I can remember that far back. Anyway great thread.

AHHH I love kid stories. This thread is awesome.

I used to watch Peter Pan (the musical with Mary Martin) every morning with a bowl of Rice Krispies and a jar of peanut butter, which I ate with a spoon.

Then I moved to Star Wars and watched The Empire Strikes Back every morning for a year, during which time I got a buzz cut so I could look more like Luke. (For some reason I thought that was the universal boy haircut. I was three! Gimme a break!)

My brother and I used to set up an elaborate space in the basement, with a weird rocking horse in the front of the set-up, a jungle gym behind it with a roof, and all over the rest of the basement would be obstacles and forts. The horse and jungle gym served as our wagon as we crossed the united states on the Oregon Trail! Screw the computer game! Dressing up and playing make believe was so much better. (But, the computer game still rocks, too.)

I love your story about Spooky, cats are awesome ^_^
    My turn!
When I was about 2 or 3 my grandma died. Even though I was really little she was the person I loved and trusted more then anyone else(execpt my mom, of course) So when I was about 6 or 7 I couldn't fall asleep, I loved the night so it didn't bother me too much. I had to go to the bathroom so I got up and went to the hall. Inbetween the bathroom and my room was my brothers room, he never sleeps in there, so his door was open. When I walked past I saw my grandma sitting on my brother's bed, my first instinct was to run towards her but somthing stopped me. I still dont know why but I just smiled, waved and went to the bathroom, when I got in there I saw a huge black thing at least 6 feet across and I think it was a bat, but it just dissapeared after I stared at it for a minute. Through out this entire time, I wasnt scared. When I went back to bed she was gone. this was the first time she had shown herself to me completely so I remeber it and this was the strongest connection I had ever had as a child(that I remeber) and the entire night little things happened like the lights comming on, my bunny being all worked up, and I felt a pressesnce.
And my first memory would be when I was 1 or 2 and it was december 21(my dad told me that part) I remeber a huge fire and running around with a ton of other little kids and loud noises and a colorful sky. Also it was amazingly warm for december, I had always thoguht of this as a dream until about a year ago when I told my dad and he filled me on the details. We had went up there for a bonfirre and fireworks and it was really warm like 70. I cant remeber past lives either or anything before this, but it was funny remebering it from a childs point of veiw and not know what fireworks were, lol.
People say hate is a strong word
    but so is love
    and people throw it around
    like its nothing

Guess it is my turn as well.

I was about 5, and I was in the lounge room with my parents and 2 sisters, and I remembering looking at the doorway that led to the room myself and my nanna use to share (she passed away a few days earlier .. it was a rather painful experience that I hid very deeply that I almost forgot about it, We use do talk to each other until I feel asleep, I loved her so much).

Anyway I remembering seeing a shadow in the doorway, It was moving and there was no one there to cast a shadow as everyone in the lounge room was sitting and this one was standing.

I remember my mum asking what are staring at so intently and I turned my head to here to tell her and when I looked back at the door way the shadow was gone.

    Also 1 other story.

When I was 5 all my family to going to go to Pioneer Village and I remembering wearing an orange jumper (rather weird things I remember). We were involved in a car crash, I suffered minor whiplash and my mother got the full blown version of it, she suffered from headaches and sore necks all the time. When she was suffering from head aches I would go over too her and put my hands above her head and tell her I was making her pain go away and she told me it always worked. I didnt know how I made it happen I just did.

I think the healing thing is that I have always been close to my mother and it was unconditional love that I have for my mother that help me do this to her.
