I play guitar and drive with my right hand but dont consider myself ambi dex. Left handers see the world much different its not in the hands its the mind.

For hundreds of years children born left handed were killed for being left handed which was considered wicked or from the devil.

The truth is that we are creative and our thought patterns are different. Man does not like ideas better than what he has. See the right hand mind is about organization and not creativity, therefore he would hate new ideas

I also had a teacher 'Mr Gibons' tell me that it is bad to colour outside of lines, If only I knew then what I know now.

I won't argue with you personal experience but I have never been that impressed with brain hemisphere dominance theory or data.

My brain used to do this incessantly, but meditation and acceptance has led to control. It is hard to describe how to choose to process a thought in either hemispherical context or in both.

Wow, totally missed that. What I instantly saw is that the date was 08-13. Well, I'm left-handed and I like the number 08/13. Why? Very long story.

Well it is true overall and in general that language is processed in the left side of the brain and that the hemispheres show some specialization. But men are more "lateralzed" than women and all us use both sides of the brain. And brain tissue has some plasticity over our lifetime to learn new functions. So I think the concept of left-brain vs. right-brain people is a stretch based on the actual research.

However I fully acknowledge the prejudice against left-handers in society. It may be that for some it is related to some hemisphere dominance and other brain differences. But I think some of the negativism towards lefties is purely social and not brain-based. Humans are hard on differences, find them scary etc.. So I would think that some of the leftie experience in life is also social difference. (Starting when scissors don't work right in preK).

you know we talked about all that in my Psych class and my prof. said that actually the thing that makes the most impact on whether you are 'right' brained or 'left' brained is actually whether or not you think you are one or the other

most people have pretty much equal access to both
regardless of whether I am really and ambi or not and all those test that tell me I'm equally left and right brained ... I think I'm just both because that's what I think and feel and how I think and feel

actually I use to write with both hands when I was little then my teachers made me 'pick' one which they decided would be the right

It wasn't til high school that I started writing with my left hand again but the muscles were sore from miss use in that arena but even my high school teachers would sometimes say just pick a hand... but my hand writing is legible with both so I don't know why they were like that...

ehh I prefer typing anyways I can use both hands at the same time
