reality vanishing : the stand alone complex

its something i found interesting from this video :

and from reading Jean Baudrillard theories around reality vanishing.

its a phenomena that i already heard from linguists around the way the word can impact our view on reality and i found it was really nicely conceptualised by the Ship of Theseus paradox (a paradox which raises the question of whether an object which has had all its component parts replaced remains fundamentally the same object.) , and jean baudrillard theories.

in fact its a phenomena that appear when the reality have been conceptualised to some degree, and that you use those concept as a replacement for the reality, it make each reality part 'functional' and being kind of complete and with anything out of view, as a sum of functional entities (what the symbols represents) , and then as the abstraction the symbol represent are kind of 'complete', the need for actually 'feel' the reality vanish , and it actually works because the same principle of reality have been shared by a sufficient amount of ppl, but this remove the differenciation the reality can have across ppl , just by replacing its essence by symbols which are identical for everybody.and it also remove the curiosity in the same time it remove the need for actually 'feel' the reality and not living in a functional reality created by extensive use of interchangeable symbol across ppls.

and i think it is a problem lots of so called 'psychic' ppl encounter around reality , because the reality principle created througt the intensive use of functionals symbol is kind of too much different from what they perceive and can lead to some kind of mental divergeance or skyzophrenia or another kind of stuff =)

but well for manufactured functional object like this its still a low distortion, as the only raison for the 'broom' to actually exist in this form is precisly to achive the function described by being a 'broom', otherwise it would be a tree or i don't know what, so for object it works, even if its never 'only a broom' , it is still have been put from material to this form articially to serve a particular function, but this phenomena take more importance on 'natural non functional' things =)

and when used massivly on everything, it just remove individuality from ppl because you just 'live' in a common principle of reality as a sum of artificial functional symbols. but it is not only for object or things, it is also for concept in life, and how you conceptualise feelings or more advanced concept that describe more complex things into symbols of them .

if you just consider it as a broom yes it is also a just broom, and all the broom are the same if they can achieve the same function, but well even a broom is not **exactly** the same across time, and two broom are never exactly identical, but , the point is if you live in a functional reality, all the broom are the same and they are just broom and just are thing to remove dust etc =) but if you do this kind of abstraction too massively, you just remove the reality from your mind =)

but its not really philosophy here, as its not a discussion on sens of word or anything, it is to point the effect of the extensive use of symbolism in the way we conceive the reality and what impact it have when millions of ppl use this

I think I get what your on about,

Like having one picture in your mind of a broom and using that picture for every other broom you encounter.

yes its like that, and then considering the global conception that the humans brains have on the reality, when you use only symbol to represent it, it lead to a feeling that the reality is kind 'complete' and fully 'understood' like if you consider the assembly of all the 'mental picture' you have of all the thing that surround you, and that you consider the reality is the sum of those picture, it make a reality where nothing is hidden or not understandable, and it remove the need to actually feel what it is really, and if too much ppl use the same picture in their head instead of actualling feeling the reality, it create a kind of 'shared illusion' of what reality is, and how to take part in it, as everything is put as functional and replacable, but it is never totally the case but it already get to some high degree of alteration in lots of ppl minds =) where the reality has really become a sum of replacable/interchangeable things =)

and eventually if you are to really 'feel' things as they really are, there would be some contradiction with the reality built with the sum of the 'mental picture' =) which is really something which occur all the time that the delusional 'mental reality' created from symbols become more real than the original one =) and if you remove this from your head, there is the 'stand alone' complex where you are the only one to perceive the reality as it is really, in the middle of ppl using the same 'reality sum of replacable things' . which can become an issue if there is a big difference between both =)

I have wondered what reality would look like if you could remove all of the societal conditioning.

most of the social conditioning operate in the symbolic reality you can't condition somebody without exchanging information =) and most of the conditioning come uppon this symbolism, if you remove the rigid symbolism from things, it become really harder to impose a clear view on things, and on the other hand it is easy to manipulate ppl by manipulating symbols meaning when ppl live in a symbolic reality =)

but well i'm just pointing this out because i think it is in big part what create the 'alien feeling' from the 'woken up' state, its a kind of stand alone complex where we use our full feeling from reality as our mental reality, or a least a thing closer from what we feel from it and just enabling our 'curiosity' mode, instead of basing our conception of reality, and the manipulation we do mentally on it, on the common concept around words and symbols that ppl commonly share =) and it just make us feel like 'outside of the reality' a bit but its just because we have a different perception and mental conception of it, from what you can have by using the commonly shared symbol too much intensivly to represent it =)
