Spring has Sprung....

today i saw the first flowers of the season down by the creek. The vibrant yellow stream violets are blossoming... it's so exciting... the creek is cruising this time of year and the water level has risen a good 2 inches overnight.. The snow pack run off- is finally here... flood season I guess some would say.
Spring was so late in coming this year...

It's so great to be outside again...
out of hibernation...
I'm from Canada you know hey???...

'playing' in the dirt in her forest. It smells so good.. the sun is warm and the birds are everywhere and sing so wonderfully..
Did the first grass cutting of the season and everything is turning so green.

wow I'm always in awe....watching the earth wake up again.

Anyone else seeing awesome outdoor happenings???

going green again...

it's so neat to hear that you see these things too.. they sound beautiful.

It's nice to know they brighten your day with color and sunshine

it's so important to take the time.....and smell the roses

my irises are 3" out of the ground and I'm cheering them on.

Our last place had them
I don't have any here yet... I'll have to go visit the neighbors soon when they come to bloom... they smell sooooo nice.. fresh and sweet.

I think they propogate fairly easily from cutting... should get to it this year and plant so...

thanks for the fragrant memory

*pats tigger*

I don't know where you ladies (excluding Tigger) are from but our spring here is almost over - leaning heavily towards summer with the temperature getting upwards towards 80 now. My apple tree has shaken off its blossoms and is now serioudly getting around to going green - I love looking up at the sky through its branches

o....h ah ..love the pics thanks *grins* love B&W....and I love dandilion puffs... the neighbor always got so mad when we blew those things.... he he he funny???

sshenry I'm 'way up north' .. actually central BC Canada..
in the sunny Okanagan Valley. We live at 2200 ft though ( a wee bit closer to the stars) and definately experience 4 very different seasons.. it's incredible. each is so different and all in 365 days.. it's forever changing it really blows me away. We're really late this year..I still see snow across the way in the shadows. We're in a sub-alpine forest that is so rich of 'his glory' and we've been here for 4 years and are still discovering so many neat awesome things... The rainforests of the west coast of B.C. was so different.. wet and green, 8 months of the year...so there's a huge environment difference...it's so diverse here.. tress, animals (from bears to moles), wildflowers... tons of daisies, Patryc ... amazing mushrooms and lichens, birds galore, insects and critters are endless and outstanding ... flowers and ferns beyond my imagination...(well maybe not) and the most beautiful rocks... i thinks there's even gold in the creek... *pulls out the gold pan *...anyways enough... we love it here... it's a good fit.
.. and the bluest sky .....

*kicks backs and watches the clouds roll by*
breathes....

Namaste

I envy you darling - I grew up in Maine ("Top of the world Ma" -well, at least from a US perspective) and there are days when I would give anything for the slower pace and the closeness to nature. I must be here for a reason though...*shrugs* Enjoy your extended spring!

I think you're confusing Maine and Alaska...

I love ALL of the seasons. When there ARE seasons. Here in the Bay Area, it seems like they all kind of blend into one another because it's so temperate. Out here early Fall and late Winter are called "the rainy season." LOL

There's no snow and even here most of the trees never seem to lose their leaves. (Most of them are evergreens.) The rain is not really a "real" rain -- not much thunder or lightning, not many downpours.

And yet, time kind of takes on a different "look" and "feel" when you don't really see the passing of the seasons. You look at things differently and look at different things. It's all a matter of perspective, I think.

is this the San Fransisco Bay area .. northern California, part of the Pacific North West? Awesome area... are you near the Redwoods.?
So wet and green there too... i so relate to how time warps and changes in the "rainy season" almost a prehistoric calm to the air, a stillness ......

Yeah... near San Francisco, but East Bay. Close to the redwoods (they're all over the place out here). But the national forest is still a bit of a drive from here. I'm trying to figure out where to go camping next weekend.
