Synchronicity in Action
I just came home from a Duran Duran concert in Concord CA and wanted to share this with everyone.
I wasn't particularly excited about the concert because I really wanted to go to a metaphysical party I was invited to after I had agreed to go to the concert with my sister. I have always liked Duran Duran but concerts haven't really been my thing as much since I've gotten older.
I was thinking about this in relationship with the call of the soul and wondering: Was I feeling this way because I was having a soul-urge to stay away from the old things I used to love and go onto the new things I enjoy? But then I thought again. It really felt more like my ego was overpowering things. Perhaps my soul had a reason for all of this that I was yet unaware of.
So I went to the concert and I had a great time...thankfully! But the reason I am called to start this thread is because of the sychronicity of the event.
One of my favorite songs by Duran Duran is Ordinary World. It's probably my most favorite by them and I was waiting, hoping they would play it. I feel the song really resonates with my life, in literal and metaphorical ways. At a point during the concert, Simon Le Bon began talking about our world and how everywhere we look, especially on TV and in the newspapers, we are exposed to so much violence going on in the world. It is important that we are aware of the things that are going on, but the media overdoes it and controls us by making us afraid. He then said he hoped there would come a generation that would stand up to this and declare "I'm not afraid!" and thus change the world. Then he dedicated Ordinary World to this issue and the lights turned indigo.
To me, this was a very significant moment. I cannot remember the lights being any shade of blue in any of the other songs...and of course when I put the whole thing together, it just speaks in a way that I cannot mistake being anything other than a confirmation from my soul that this is what I am here for.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this moment in my life with everyone and invite others to share their experiences of coincidence...or synchronicity in action. I feel it is these moments, when recognized and not cast aside as meaningless, that we are validated - confirmed to ourselves by our souls that we are on the right path.

I think your post is wonderful.
I also happen to like Duran Duran (eighties teen, you know...) and Ordinary World is my favorite by them, too! I don't think the lighting was coincidental, of course. I don't believe in coincidence.
If you pay careful attention, you'll see things like this all the time. It makes me smile.

I love moments like this! Where everything crystalises and you internally smile 'aha'!
One I have had recently was when I was halfway through reading A New Earth and I wanted to practice observing the ego and Tolle suggests doing it with a flower at first. So I thought to myself I need to find a flower.
At that moment I was walking out of a supermarket. Just outside the door a random old guy smiled at me, and pulled at red rose from a bunch he was carrying and gave it to me and continued walking. At the same time my 'awakening' theme song clicked on to my ipod, which is all about waking up from your beautiful haze. The timing was just perfect. I knew the universe was telling me I was [still] on the right track.

That's awesome! Doesn't it add magic when there's music involved?

Wonderful stories, I havent had anything to profound happen lately as far a story as such but its wonderful when you get the reminders, it's easy to fall of the path at times or forget where you are going. We all need little bumps sometimes!
