The twin soul relationship is eternal. All other labels or applications to the twin soul relationship are transitory -- such as friend, boyfriend, wife, husband, "sister", "brother", etc. It is to my understanding that regardless of everything the souls will once again connect and there may be many different lifetime circumstances that may prevent certain applications or "relationships" from forming at a point in the twin soul connection. It is much deeper than the present and the now and it spans beyond a romantic relationship or a friendship...these are not the ultimate definitions which define the existential reality of the twin soul experience. It is not a smooth ride either you have to work through karma and ego to balance and it takes work and time...it is a truly beautiful thing and something to be treasured.

I completely agree with you. Though I am still not sold on the idea of this twin flame theory. My theory is as follows: You are your own twin flame. It is contained in you and only you.

It was a really good thought/question! I'm not sure anyone was taking it personal really, just perhaps they were being on the defensive because of being attacked for what they have found. Others who have not found a special spark of love within them will be jealous of others who have. I speak from experience, because I was one of the jealous, crushed individuals. But I have someone in my life right now that is always on my mind and in my heart. She's incredible

I didn't even know what a "twin soul" was until I met this guy, and it was so insane that I had to start looking for answers online about what the hell was going on with us (and me). Everything I read about the "twin soul" experience matched what I've been going through. I definitely don't think I am trying to call him that out of desire to "find him" or anything like that. I have no desire for a relationship right now, in fact finding my twin soul at this point was the last thing my human/ego mind "me" would have wanted. The soul has a "mind" of it's own sometimes I guess though.

*shrug* I know, he knows, we're aren't supposed to "be" together right now. Our lives, our purposes, are on two separate paths that cross, unhindered, again, when we are older. It sucks, but that is the way it is. We see one another when we can, and for now, it is platonic on the surface.

The electricity is there. We finish one another's sentences, we think the same way, we give one another advice. More frighteningly, we communicate without speaking many times. We aren't conscious of it until later on when it is pointed out to us. It makes our significant others uneasy, uncomfortable - not something we set about to do on purpose, but is an unfortunate side effect for them.

How do I know he's my twin flame? So many ways, many of them I'm not conscious of all the time, but I think its incredible that we can have that sort of relationship while still being in love with other people. He's happily married with a beautiful little boy. I live with my boyfriend of 5 years in the home we just bought, and we're talking about getting married.

The way I see it is, even if he and I couldn't have a romantic relationship, I know this person is my other half and I'm content knowing that. It doesn't HAVE to be romantic. It simply is what it is!

The twin flame phenomena goes deeper than words into something like an instant knowing. I believe iv met people from past lives that i have been in love with who feel like twin flames or maybe are fractured from the same soul. I also agree that we don't just have one twin flame but many. I believe that just as we embody more than one consciousness so does our twin flame. Maybe we are just one aspect of a larger soul?
