Why is it always more?
Ever feel like it's never enough, and they always want more? What's so wrong with now?
They always want you to do more. What if you're just happy doing what you were doing? When is it okay to be content in what is? Then there's always someone saying you can do more, be more. More what? More.... There's an old story about a banker who was in Mexico met a fisherman and asked what he did in his spare time. The fisherman said that he got up early caught fish, sold them at the market, then spent the rest of the day with his wife and playing with his children. Then he said, "well if you worked later fishing you could sell more and own two boats to fish" "What then" the fisherman answered. He replied, "Then expand your business and move to a big city like New York" "What then" the fisherman answered. The banker said, "You could then sell your business, and retire in Mexico, spend it with your children and wife....." This ad goes away when you register. |

Wanting more is a product of the ego... it is never happy with what is, always thinking that 'more' will bring it happiness.
It sounds like you are on the right track... stick to it

I think wanting more, and always more... it's a product and result of the system. It's the program they put in our heads.... Through the television, and other ways... but especially t.v.
and they feed it and feed it. And when we realize ... we had something in our heads that didn't belong to us... is so cool to take it out. Can be painful, but is relieving. Then, the problem is that u don't fit anywhere.. I mean.. that is a part of not fitting.. but it's an important one. Because.. how do u want to fit.. when u don't want to buy so many fancy clothes... for example. And I know that... many people.. maybe doesn't know they are under the influence of the system.. but they are unhappy. Because... exactly... there is never an end to that. There is always something more... to buy... But... in other sense.... Maybe wanting always more is good. Like.. if u want to travel... and travel more.. and more... To go to more places... That is good. Same when u have many goals. That make u grow. That make u be better at .... different things. And having more experiences. And maybe be better, as a person... The trick most be... to come back to the present moment. Like.. u can plan and.. do steps for what u want... But... u have to come back to the here and now. And yes... to enjoy that. Because... the trap is when... u doesn't enjoy... what u have, what is, what... is infront of ur nose.. for wanting more.... I donno... Good question. this is one of my favorite topics to think about. |

Many people are afraid of Emptiness, however, because it reminds them of Loneliness. Everything has to be filled in, it seems - appointment books, hillsides, vacant lots - but when all the spaces are filled, the Loneliness really begins. Then the Groups are joined, the Classes are signed up for, and the Gift-to-Yourself item are bought. When the Loneliness starts creeping in the door, the Television Set is turned on to make it go away. But it does not go away. So some of us do instead, and after discarding the emptiness of the Big Congested Mess, we discover the fullness of Nothing.

feng shui.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Feng-Dummies-D.../dp/0764552953 There are other, more in-depth and insightful, but this is great for basics. |

Funny you should bring Fung Shui up because last night i was in the process of moving everything around in my room and cleaning. I burned white sage and cleared the room because i had been away for a while and felt uneasy about something in the room. Anyways before i get too off topic i was thinking about the flow of energy of the room and how i might make most use of it so i dunno why but I ended up buying a little oil burner... thats all.
Maybe i will find the time to swing by a book store today. |

Right! Like where is the line between per say a "benifical" more or a "superficial" more.... Or is there a line?
When is more okay, in moderation like everything else? |
