Wicca Religion
I recently gave up my old religion of Christianity because my beliefs no longer coniside with the church's beleifs. So I have been researching other religions and I very much so like the Wicca religion and I was wondering if anyone had any good books, websites, or other sources of information I could look at.
If anyone oposes the fact that I like this relgion, good for you, dont tell me, I couldn't care less if you approve of not. Thank you ![]() ~Rinnie♥ This ad goes away when you register. |

behold the wonderful process of soul integration!allowing yourself to experience yourself on earth with its inhabitatants, will allow you the gift of your already understanding awareness of how to work with the forces of creation, to the surface. |

The first book I bought for myself was "Celtic Magic" by D.J. Conway. Really what I suggest you do though, is go to a book store, specifically if there's one that specializes in occult products and browse. Take your time and trust me, the book that is right for you will stand out to you. You'll know. Enjoy!

The only thing I've ever heard about Wicca is that they took some of their beliefs from the native americans. That's pretty much all I know. I dated a girl when I was younger who said she was a Wiccan, but I'm pretty sure it was just a front to hide the fact that she was a little off in the head. It made her seem a little less strange to think there was some method to her madness, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't. I learned nothing about Wiccan beliefs from her at all...nothing. She just told me she was a witch and I thought it was cool, but I saw no evidence of it.
Actually, I am somewhat interested in what it is exactly that Wicca is about. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two. All I know from looking it up is something about the Divine Feminine, but I didn't go too far into it. Anyway, good luck with it and if you learn something interesting then post it up and I'll check it out. |

Some people claim to be a witch before they truely are, this girl may have been in her research stage, because general you must wait a year and a day to join a coven/become a witch.(If Im wrong, someone tell me please, but I think I know what Im talking about )

You really can find out all you need to know about Wicca (and other various Pagan religions) by visiting a website called Witchvox.

In this same regard indigenous religions fall under the mantle of "Paganism" anyway, because according to the most commonly held definition of the word "Pagan" it encompasses all religions outside of Abrahamic faiths. That is... if its not Muslim, Jewish, or Christian... its Pagan. |

[quote=Deni;183357]Well, that's technically incorrect. Wicca (real Wicca that is to say), has no simularities to any indigenous religious beliefs. Paganism, on the other hand (and by that I mean Modern Paganism) frequently adopts rituals and beliefs whenever those rituals and beliefs fit in with the primary held beliefs of the individual practitioner. And even though all Wiccans are Pagans not all Pagans are Wiccan. The same way that all Baptists are Christian, but not all Christians are Baptist.
QUOTE] I like whay you have to say here. However, I find that books on Wicca today do indeed borrow from the Jewish Kabbalah. If you're interested, I can give you the name of one example... but I'm too lazy to go upstairs and get it. It was this book however, that made me stuy the kabbalah ( I hope I'm spelling it right). The more I studied religion, the more I moved away from embracing a specific one because they all share similarities. |

Religion serves the purpose of explaining why we are here, who created us, etc. so they will most likely have similarities, but I find the differences more profound. In Christianity, because Im a complete feminist, I felt that it was horribly sexist to call God a "he".Also, other beliefs such as the orginaztion of it, and reincarnation, afterlife, etc. come into effect. You can combine the relgions and make your own, that way everything is exactly how you want it
